Bruce’s TIP OF THE WEEK #151 of 156
Service: finish what you start

HAVE YOU EVER HAD an employee be waiting on you when another customer comes along and then helps them instead? Or does the phone ring and the employee stops taking care of you to answer the call without your permission, then does not ask the caller to be put on hold if the call will be long? If so, then you already understand this TIP. It is important to finish what you start, otherwise the first member or guest might become aggravated and frustrated.

I CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND that we can get caught up in the moment trying to please everyone and at times this is fine.  For example, it is okay to quickly hand another person their shined shoes or a shoe bag.  However, ignoring the first person is not multitasking. It borders on being inconsiderate and can seem rude; something not becoming of the service deserved and expected at a private club, or anywhere else for that matter.
