Bruce’s TIP OF THE WEEK #127 of 156
Service: business cards and staff photos

IT IS COMMON to see at the reception desk a display stand containing business cards for the General Manager, Clubhouse Manager, Head Golf Professional and department heads. What is not as common is seeing one for the Locker Room Manager. His and her job is just as important in the overall operation as the others, so why exclude them? Providing business cards with their email and cell phone number makes it easier for the golfers to get in touch if they need to do so. Oh, please also make sure that there are phone prompts for the locker rooms so that the caller is able to leave a message, as explained in TIP OF THE WEEK #83.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT idea is to feature staff photos on the club’s website and near the shoe shine room.  It helps the members and guests know who is who and is a morale booster for the employees as well. An example of one of the best staff websites is that of the Country Club at DC Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ.
