ONE THING that really bothers me when evaluating the shower area is seeing that some clubs expect the members and guests to share the same bar of soap. To be blunt, this is nasty but an easy fix is to simply provide single use bars of soap.
COMPANIES such as Duffy’s, Essential Amenities, Fore, Gilchrist & Soames and Guest Supply sell certain brands, in different sizes, at various prices, separately boxed or unwrapped. The upscale Hermes brand comes in its own attractive plastic case. If a member prefers a specific brand, such as the traditional pine scent, then purchase it and provide a soap container which they can keep in their locker.
EVEN THOUGH shower gel is usually the norm, some people prefer a bar of soap instead. Offering both is simple enough and should be SOP at a private club.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT AMENITY is wash cloths, especially for body wash. Without them it is difficult to apply and wasted. Having everything anticipates needs, which is what the private club experience is supposed to be all about.
