Bruce’s TIP OF THE WEEK #62 of 156
Layout:  women’s salon and spa

I’VE SEEN A FEW barber shops at the 158 clubs I have been but rarely a women’s salon and spa. One that really impressed me, though, is at Liberty National Golf Club.

THIS LAYOUT FEATURE can be designed in such a way that it can serve not only the ladies but men, too; like the massage room at Kenwood Country Club in Cincinnati where it is located between the men’s and women’s locker rooms.

HAVING ALSO WORKED at The Greenbrier Spa, I used to tell the men clients that there is nothing embarrasing about getting a pedicure or facial.  Afterwards they agreed their treatment was very relaxing, along with having both mental and physical health benefits. Thus, a women’s salon and spa can also offer services for the men and be another source of revenue.

ONE OTHER FEATURE I recommend is a private room where one can take a warm or hot soak in a mineral bath before a massage.  It is extremely calming and is like an appetizer before the main course. This is in addition to separate whirlpools for men and women.

THE WOMEN should not be overlooked. After all, they are our better half; or should I say our better three-quarters?!
