I THOUGHT I did a nice job when shining black and brown leather dress shoes until I worked at The Greenbrier. My coworkers there took it to the next level. You can say they mentored me to their skill level. I ENCOURAGE locker room attendants with less experience to learn from those with more experience. Mentoring might come by visiting someone who works at another area club. That’s OK. It would be an honor for them and an educational opportunity for the one wanting to learn how to do a better job. STAFF TRAINING is not limited to shining shoes but it covers the entire locker room operation which also includes amenites, layout and service. As such, I dedicate this TIP OF THE WEEK to my former coworker, Don “Chief” Crump, who, with 52 years of experience, mentored me every day.
