IF THE LOCKER ROOM ATTENDANT is allowed by the club to go off property, then doing offsite errands for members increases the level of service. ERRANDS SUCH AS taking a member’s car to be washed and detailed; picking up his or her vehicle after a service appointment; dropping off and returning their dry cleaning.
WHILE CONSULTING at a club in Ohio the locker room manager mentioned that although the kitchen is closed during a winter month, the men’s locker room was still open so the members could play cards. I suggested he get some menus from local popular restaurants and take a lunch and/or dinner order from each member when they might all like to have a meal together. He could either pick up the food or have it delivered. This made the members happy and the attendant was “rewarded” for his service as well.
DOING THESE special errands as described and others, like offering shoe repair, makes the private club service experience all the better.
