IT IS COMMON TO READ on most golf and country club websites their claim that they offer the best of service. Well, what is service? A simple definition is, “Not thinking of oneself.” For example, if a member says not to put polish on their black leather golf shoes (even though you think they need it), then do not do so. It would be bad service.
I WAS EMPLOYED 12 years at The Greenbrier where my coworkers and I did a good job because we wanted to, not just because we were supposed to. That is service!
