A GUEST MIGHT FORGET his or her shoes, the luggage didn’t arrive at the airport when scheduled or their golf shoes need cleaning and/or spikes but there isn’t enough time to do so before they tee off. Also, imagine playing golf when it unexpectedly starts to rain and afterwards not having a clean dry shirt to wear to dinner.
SERVICE INCLUDES anticipating needs. Providing loaner golf shoes and shirts in a variety of sizes does that very thing. However, they need to be quality and in good condition.
LOANING CLEAN DRY SHIRTS to replace those that got wet during a round, so the golfers could enjoy their meal in comfort, was the norm in the golf locker room at The Greenbrier. We would then take the wet shirts to the onsite laundry to have them dried, pressed, placed on a hanger in a plastic bag and returned to each guest’s locker before they came back from dinner. Needless to say, the guests were impressed and grateful for the unexpected service provided.
